Ahh.. Mallorca!
It’s hard not to fall in love with the Balearic Islands. But there’s something about Mallorca that captured my heart when I first visited two years ago, and perhaps it was difficult to describe what was so dazzling about this island that first time, but five visits later (in the span of two years), I could say Mallorca is seductive and appeals to those who are inquisitive.
Mallorca doesn’t dazzle you with vast stretches of white powdered beaches or luxury hotels with rooms opening into the beautiful ocean. But instead, Mallorca inspires curiosity, with an abundance of beautiful coves to be discovered, each so unique in its form, charming hilltop villages, breathtaking vistas and scenic winding roads. Mallorca is in an island with a mountainous wild side and a subtle magical tranquility.
Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean Malloca is not a luxury destination- it very much is!! The hotel offerings are vast and varied, from countryside vineyard vibes to
Mallorca, has it all!
STAY
There is something for everyone in Mallorca, and my list of luxury properties is long! The great part about this island, unlike many others, is that the luxury is dispersed, so every time you visit, you can explore a different side, making it feel like a new adventure.
While there are some big name hotels (Belmond, St. Regis, Jumairah), most of the properties in Mallorca are boutique in nature, with a refined sense of place.
Pleta De Mar
This new addition to Mallorca, definitely elevates the neighborhood of Canyamel, and blends architecture, nature and luxury harmoniously throughout the property. with 3 pools, an outdoor gym, and x acres, and only 32 suites, you’ll feel like your the only one on this magnificent playground.
Can Simotta
Pleta de Mar’s big-sister property, an old spanish traditional home converted into a hotel, with sweeping ocean views and a convenient walkway to the nearest stretch of beach.
Cap Rocat
An entrance fit for kings- walk over the drawbridge to find this magical castle. While my knight was not in shining armor, or around the various walls of this fortress, i found complete serenity in the ultimate lap of luxury. Everything about this place screams romance- it is perfect for honeymooners and couples.
AT Pro Tip: Breakfast lovers will LOVE walking up to the private feast that gets delivered to your room each morning.
